Register with the forum to participate in LEADER elections
The Sligo LEADER Partnership Company is responsible for a the Rural Development Programme in County Sligo in addition to a number of other initiatives including the Rural Social Scheme, Tus Programme, Rural Transport Programme and Warmer Homes Scheme.The Board will be holding community elections in the following locations:
Ballymote area: Loftus Hall, Tues June 5th @ 8pm
North Ward/Calry area: Northside Community Centre Wed June 6th 8pm
Gurteen Area: Coleman Heritage Centre, Gurteen Tuesday June 12th @ 8pm
East/West/Strandhill Area: Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo town, Wednesday June 13th @8pm
Nominations will be sought from community groups registered with the Sligo County Community Forum.
To be registered you must have filed a ‘renewal form’ and paid your 10 euro membership fee. Easy to use Group Membership Form
Each eligible registered group can nominate one candidate for election. Nominations must be forwarded to the registered office of County Sligo Leader Partnership by 5pm on Friday 2nd June, stating name, address and contact details of the group (as registered with the community forum) and nominee from that group.
Voting by community groups’ representatives will be by attendance on the night and no postal voting will be accepted. Only community groups from the area, who are registered with the Sligo County Community Forum will be entitled to vote (2 votes per registered group).
The Board of Sligo LEADER Partnerhship Co. are seeking gender balance within the board, and as such, we are strongly encouraging nominations for both male and female representatives.
